The project „Today as a bridge to tomorrow – The Church of Dominicans in Košice – facade restoration“, benefits a 709 010 € from grant from Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway through the EEA Grants. The project has been co-financed from the State Budget of the Slovak Republic in the amount of 125 119 €. The aim of the project is to:
Restoration work will be performed within the project on the western side of the polygonal sanctuary closure situated on the southern and eastern wall of the Church of Dominicans in Košice. Cinema operation will be restored in the cultural center Veritas, being an organic part of the Church of Dominicans.
Cinema hall Lexmann will be furnished with a modern gallery and screening technique. The opening of the tourism information office in Veritas will improve services provided to tourists, and conditions for the visitors of the Church of Dominicans. In cooperation with the project partner, tourist guides will be professionally trained and the wide public will gain access to immaterial cultural heritage of our grandparents – the party bridge.
Professional conferences will be focused on the life and historical legacy of Jozef Mikuláš Lexmann, and on media literacy and prevention of disinformation spread. These activities will be organized in collaboration with the Norwegian partner as for the content and methodology.
Cultural – entertainment events will be organized for the wide public.
